2020 New Member Application
Members of the Quest Team play a major role in the development and implementation of Lipscomb University's undergraduate New Student Orientation programs. The position requires hard work and is a serious time commitment; it is also a tremendously rewarding opportunity to help new students maximize their university adjustment and experience.

Program Schedule:
Advance: May 22, June 12, June 18, July 10
Move-In + QuestWeek + New Student Express: August 17-23, 2020 (Monday through Sunday)
New Student Express: January 10, 2021 (Sunday) – Designed for Transfers and New Freshmen

Qualifications:
Quest Team members must:
- Consistently uphold University policies and regulations throughout their time as a student
- Be in good standing with the University and not be on official probation (academic or chapel)
- Be able to sincerely promote and present the University in a positive manner
- Maintain a minimum, cumulative, GPA of 2.0
- Be a self-starter (responsible, dependable, and organized, etc.)
- Have strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to serve others
- Be motivated by the satisfaction of helping new students and their parents
- Work cooperatively with others
- Be available and willing to work long hours and to do detailed tasks when necessary
- Be committed to living on campus for the summer as part of a Living-Learning Community

Note: Unfortunately, if you are planning to serve as a RA in any of our on-campus residence halls next year, you are unable to also serve as a Quest Team member due to an overlap in time commitment.

Time Requirements:
- Spring Training: Sunday evenings during the Spring Semester
- Service Day: Wednesday, April 8 (afternoon)
- Quest Team Retreat (May 11-13)
- Quest Team meetings will be held every Tuesday night during the summer, beginning at 6:00 p.m. You will be assigned to committees and required to execute orientation tasks outside of meetings.
- The week of each Advance session, we will meet at least 2 nights preceding, and you are expected to be available.
- Move-In Days will proceed QuestWeek, and Quest Team members are required to be available on these days.
- QuestWeek will run from Tuesday, August 18, through Sunday evening, August 23 (the night before classes begin). You are required to work all QuestWeek events.
- Each team member is expected to accrue a minimum of 5 Volunteer Points throughout the Summer. These are given out as tasks are completed.
- Each team member is expected to spend at least 30 minutes of one-on-one Quest Quality Time (QQT) with each team member over the course of the summer.
