Welcome to the Secret Sister Project! This is a ministry of encouraging, caring and sharing with other sisters in Christ. It’s not just about material things, but a way to show love for your”sister” by praying for her and encouraging her with a sweet card, a heartfelt note, or some of her favorite things. Please fill out this form by Sunday, September 30. You will receive an email the first week in October with the name and information of your new precious “Secret Sister”.
How does the project work?
The Secret Sister Project will begin Sunday, October 8 and will end with a fun reveal at the Cookie Exchange Party in early December. During the 8-week project, you should make a focused effort to pray specifically for your sister every day and bring a card, encouraging note, or small gift every Sunday (October 7, 14 ,21, 28, November 4, 11, 18, 25) to let your sister know you have been thinking about her. Every Sunday, there will be a table in the back of the Worship Center for you to drop your sister’s goodies when you arrive. Are you going to be out of town on a Sunday during the project? No worries! Just drop your sister’s gift by the church office during the week and someone will make sure that it gets to the table for that Sunday. That’s it! Oh, and don’t forget to check the table before you leave every Sunday for something special from your own “Secret Sister".
What are your responsibilities if you participate?
1.Know that it is a commitment. The sweet sister you are assigned will be expecting you to pray for her and she should be able to rely on you for encouragement.
2.Pray for your sister every day. How precious it is to know that someone is lifting you up on prayer to the Lord! Be that someone for your sister. Get to know her needs and her family’s needs so that you may pray specifically for them.
3.Make an effort to get to know your sister. You may discover that in addition to being “sisters, you might also become good friends.
4.Be an encouragement to your sister. Bring her cards, notes of encouragement, and small gifts. We’re not talking a lot of money here. Just something small...Her favorite soda & snack wrapped in a cute bow. A pair of fuzzy socks in her favorite color. The better to get to know her, the easier it we be to come up with ideas. Have FUN with it!
5.Keep it a secret! Don’t let anyone know who you have. Spoil her, love her, and serve her from a distance to maintain the surprise.
If you are unable to continue participating in the secret sister project, please send an email to email@example.com as soon as possible so another sister can be found for the lady you were assigned.
