National Journal Conference 2019 Registration
The staff of the Virginia Policy Review at the University of Virginia's Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is thrilled to announce the seventh annual National Journal Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia from 9am - 5pm on March 30th, 2019. NJC seeks to bring together students from policy journals across the nation for a day-long conference to hear from speakers, engage in policy discussions, share best practices, and network with other MPP/MPA students.

The conference will be organized around the following sessions:

A keynote address from Mr. Kyle O'Connor, a former speechwriter for President Obama and Mark Zuckerberg.
A health policy panel, featuring a Virginia Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Executive Director of the Virginia Rural Health Association, and the Executive Director of the Charlottesville Free Clinic.
A national security panel, featuring federal officials and other professionals in the field.
A workshop on best media practices for journals.
Student-run presentations or roundtable discussions.

The registration fee for each student is $50. This includes all conference proceedings as well as breakfast, lunch, and hors d'oeuvres at a reception following the event.

While the conference is centered around MPP/MPA student-run journals, we welcome all attendance, including students from schools who have not yet established a journal or other types of publications.

Do not hesitate to contact us at with any other questions or comments. We look forward to seeing you in March!
