Call for Volunteers, Collaborators, and Contributors
Support Indigenous Events at Toronto Metropolitan University
The Office of Indigenous Initiatives (Including - Gdoo Maawnjidimi Mompii Indigenous students Services, Indigenous Education Council (GMISS), Rebirthed Teachings (RT), Learn for Empowerment (LFE) is seeking dedicated volunteers, collaborators, and contributors to support Indigenous-led events on campus. These events, including Indigenous Student Orientation Day, Ancestors Feast, Student Appreciation dinners, Names, Clans, Colours Feast, Student Role Model Event, Orange Shirt Day Annual Memorial Walk, which provide vital opportunities to engage with Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
How You Can Get Involved:
🔸 Volunteer – Assist with event logistics, outreach, set-up, and more. Your time and energy help create meaningful experiences for our community.
🔸 Collaborate – Partner with us to co-host workshops, share knowledge, or bring in guest speakers and performers.
🔸 Contribute Financially or Provide Resources – Your support helps cover costs for honoraria, event materials, food, space rentals, and other essential needs.
By supporting these events, you help foster a welcoming and educational environment that promotes reconciliation, awareness, and community building.
