Please answer these short questions with regard to a new pain therapy that we want to bring to patients. The therapy is outpatient by a behavioral or physical therapist and combines the use of a novel medical device with behavioral therapy. The program lasts for 20 hours over five weeks and includes both the patient and the spouse. It was developed at the University of North Carolina and the University of Marburg. University studies show that patients can become and stay pain free. Basic inclusion criteria include fibromyalgia, lower back pain, headache and similar chronic pain. Exclusion criteria are personality disorders and people who do not increase their blood pressure in stress situations. See
for more details on the therapy.
