Sign up to host a Parklet in 2021!
First Friday Parklets are back! Parklets are a summer program and were not held in 2020. Thankfully they're back for summer 2021!

Parklets convert on-street parking spaces into temporary people places in support of a friendly environment for people biking and walking. They create attractive public spaces for eating, reading, listening to music, or meeting a friend.

Parklets occur on First Fridays within the Missoula Parking Commission jurisdiction. If your business / organization falls outside of that area, we will need permission from a downtown business to utilize the parking space in front of their business for the day. Missoula In Motion can help with this if needed. Also please keep in mind the Higgins Bridge construction and be aware that parklets are not allowed on angled parking spots.

Missoula parklets are a free program made possible by a partnership with the Missoula Parking Commission.

COVID-19 Precautions
Under the Alternate Appendix A Event and Gathering Requirements from the Missoula County Health Department hosts must:
1) identify and take steps to mitigate areas or times of crowding
2) take steps to ensure employees, volunteers, attendees, and participants are aware of the symptoms of COVID-19, and know not to attend the event or gathering if exhibiting symptoms
3) clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces throughout the event or gathering
4) provide hand sanitizer or hand washing stations
5) staff, attendees, volunteers and others are required to wear a face covering while visiting the parklet

Each host of a parklet is responsible for complying with the above requirements. Missoula In Motion can assist with appropriate signage, masks, and hand sanitizer if needed.
