2019-2020 TVS Middle School Dance Overview and Registration
Join us for the 2019 - 2020 season of TVS Dance! Middle School Dance begins the first full week of school, August 26 and concludes with the recital performance on Wednesday, April 22. Mark your calendar for the 2020 TVS Dance Recital at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium at 6:30pm. Everyone in the recital must participate in the dress rehearsal at Will Rogers on Tuesday, April 21 at 5:30pm.

Please refer to the Middle School Dance class descriptions, schedule, and tuition rates listed below. To register your child for TVS Dance, submit your email address to complete the registration form. ONE STUDENT PER FORM. Thank you!

Level placement for Middle School students is determined by past dance experience and current technical ability. New students with prior dance experience attend a placement class for Level assignment..

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE
Level Program
Level 1-2 offers a comprehensive dance foundation to students in grades 5 and 6 with no prior dance experience. Level 1-2 students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Level 1-2 program, attending two classes each week. Please refer to the dress requirement information for the updated class attire and hairstyle.
Level 1-2 Jazz/Hip Hop: Monday, 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Level 1-2 Ballet/Lyrical: Wednesday, 4:30pm - 6:00pm

Level 2-3 offers a full schedule of classes to beginning and intermediate dance students in grades 5-8. Level 2-3 Ballet meets two days per week and all Level 2-3 classes are genre specific, providing in-depth study and technical advancement in each dance form. Students in grades 7 and 8 seeking athletic credit for dance attend the full schedule of Level 2-3 classes. Participation in Mixed Level Hip Hop (optional) is strongly encouraged to develop range of style and musicality. Pointe Technique is by invitation only and prior experience does not guarantee class placement. Please refer to the dress requirement information for the updated class attire and hairstyle.
Level 2-3 Ballet: Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Level 2-3 Jazz: Tuesday, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Level 2-3 Lyrical: Thursday, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Mixed Level Hip Hop: Monday, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Level 4-5 offers a full schedule of classes to high-intermediate and advanced dance students in grades 7 and 8. Placement in Level 4-5 classes is reserved for students with a solid dance foundation who seek athletic credit through dance. Students attend the full schedule of Level 4-5 classes to earn athletic credit through dance. Participation in Mixed Level Hip Hop (optional) is strongly encouraged to develop range of style and musicality. MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE FOR ATHLETIC CREDIT
The goals and philosophies of TVS Dance directly support the mission of the School's athletic program. Students of any level in grades 7 and 8 may earn athletic credit through dance, attending the full schedule of Level 2-3 or Level 4-5 classes. Middle School students who participate in dance for athletic credit are encouraged to serve as Student Assistants, leading one Pre-Level class each week. With the exception of the $280 performance fee, there is no fee to participate in dance for athletic credit.

CLASS DRESS REQUIREMENTS
Please refer to the dress requirements at tvs.org/dance for the updated class attire and hairstyle information. Attire may be purchased through local or online retailers and is expected at every class.
