It has been one year since 45 has taken office meaning that it has been one year that hundreds of local organizations were founded around the world, and that dozens of us, leaders of overseas organizations and Americans living overseas, connected as an international community/network/coalition to support each other in overseas advocacy, share tools and coordinate advocacy actions around issues that not only impact our home country, but our host countries as well.
We believe that is cause for celebration, reflection and measuring progress. Thus, Americans Resisting Overseas has created a google survey to help local organizations around the globe evaluate our work as an international community of active citizens.
Specifically we look to explore our work under the lense of three lines:
1. Do Americans overseas connect across countries to advocate around issues that are important to them? 2. Do decision-makers listen to the voices of Americans living overseas?3. Do Americans overseas exercise transnational citizenship- meaning they participate in their "home country" and "host country"?
This information will be compiled by Americans Resisting Overseas and a committee of other local organizations into a year report, published and shared with groups around the globe as a means of showcasing the international activism and collective voice of American expats that are organizing for progressive social change.
