Nominations for membership of the BOU's Meetings Committee
The Meetings Committee is responsible for maintaining the ongoing programme of BOU conferences and providing advice and support to the BOU Office and others responsible for organising and running BOU events.

For the 2026/2027 committee year, we seek nominations for one vacancy on Meetings Committee.

Nominees would ideally have experience of planning and delivering conferences, workshops or seminars. We are particularly keen to appoint individuals who can dedicate a modest amount of their time to sit on Scientific Programme Committees for specific events.

Those nominating should seek permission from the nominee before doing do.

Nominees do not have to be BOU members at the time of nomination, but will be asked to join the BOU as a condition of appointment to a committee.

The Committee meets online twice a year (in April/May and Sept/Oct), with regular email correspondence between meetings.

Terms are for four years. Those appointed will take up their position in July 2026.

The BOU seeks to achieve and maintain a 50:50 male:female ratio on our committees. In order to achieve this, we may prioritise applications of one gender over another for specific appointments. Likewise, we may also prioritise the appointment of nominations from under-represented groups, so that our committees better reflect the wider community we serve.

Nomination deadline: 27 February 2026
