The Robert Schultz Memorial Scholarship benefits students interested in pursuing private music lessons at the Prindle School in Easthampton, MA. The recipient receives half-hour weekly private music lessons of their choice. Preference is given to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study music and who demonstrate significant interest in learning.
Robert Schultz was a music theorist, pianist, and dear friend of Dan and Michelle Prindle. Rob passed away on May 22, 2016 after a short battle with a rare and invasive cancer. He was only 38 years old. He was a beloved music teacher and this scholarship is dedicated to carrying on the work that Rob did in his lifetime: giving the gift of the knowledge and love of music to young musicians.
Scholarship recipients must be between the ages of 7 and 18 and have not yet graduated from high school. Recipients must be residents of Easthampton, Northampton, Westhampton, Southampton, or Holyoke. Preference is given to individuals and families who would not otherwise be able to afford private music instruction. Recipients must commit to a 30-minute weekly private music lesson held at the same time each week, scheduled at the convenience of the student and the teacher. 90% attendance is required to maintain the scholarship.
