This year we are focusing on local groups and individuals who contribute to the Mooroolbark community. We want to share the stories of the innovators and risk-takers who inspire us.
It could be a shop owner who is always welcoming and friendly, or a business that operates according to the principles of mutual profitability (concerned for both the wellbeing of the community and the environment). A volunteer organisation who is giving of themselves for the safety of our community or helping others achieve their goals. A child with a unique gift of sharing and consideration for others.A dedicated teacher or mentor who motivates you, or a caregiver who encourages and supports you. Someone you admire or who you are proud to know. Those unsung heroes who may not have actually set out to improve the lives of others, and might not even realise they are making a difference.
ANYONE WHO IS FOLLOWING THEIR DREAMS OR HELPING YOU TO FOLLOW YOURS!
We are interested to hear your interpretations of the theme. We know there are local people who aren’t afraid to reach for the sky, but is there a technology or invention that has changed your life for the better? An idea or special cause that you support and want to involve your fellow community members?
As in previous years, Celebrate Mooroolbark will be making a conscious effort to make our event more environmentally sustainable. Stall applicants are encouraged to embrace this decision as well as the following objectives:
- Zero waste- Reduced energy consumption- Environmentally sustainable consumables- NO BALLOONS
Stallholders that seriously consider the above objectives will be given priority.
Join our Celebrate Mooroolbark 2019 Stallholders Facebook group for ideas and discussion on how to achieve these goals. We will be learning alongside you, so we welcome your ideas!

Each stall holder will be allocated a 4m x 4m site. Please ensure that your stall / marquee, including guy ropes, (all marquees to be secured) fit within this space. Any larger will be charged more.Food truck vendors may apply for a larger 6m x 4m site. Please note that trucks must be no longer than 6m, including A-frame at the front. If your truck is longer than 6m, you will be charged for two sites.
Our team allocate spaces according to what we think is the best possible spot for every individual stall. We strive towards ensuring good traffic flow to every part of the festival and avoid having any quiet spots.
DO NOT drive around the site to find what you think is a better position. Please keep this in mind and offer your valued feedback at the end of the day when a committee member comes around with an evaluation form. All comments are greatly appreciated for the continuing improvement of the Festival.
The site must be maintained in a clean condition throughout the day. ALL stall site rubbish must be taken with you at the conclusion of the event. Please do not use bins provided for the community.
Please note: Tables, chairs and marquees will not be provided by the Celebrate Mooroolbark Committee.
POWER ON SITE:
We strongly encourage you to consider using a silenced generator. However, we have a limited number of sites that can be provided with a maximum of 3 x 10 amp power points, at a cost of $20 per power outlet. You must provide your own leads and they must be tagged and tested.
All stallholders must make their own provision for cash handling. There are no facilities available on site.
PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE:
All stallholders require public liability insurance*. If you hold insurance current for 24 March 2018, please send a copy of your Certificate of Currency to email@example.com at the time of your application.
Policy must state 'Anywhere in Australia' and Coverage of $20 Million Dollars
* If you do not have insurance, please call Liz on 0434 012 264
Festival volunteers will be conducting safety inspections between 8.30am and 10am. If you appear to be near to or finished setting up, then they may begin earlier.
A copy of the OH&S checklist will be provided with another letter closer to the Festival so that you know what to expect. Save time on the day and make sure that you meet all the criteria, then tick off each item yourself on the day before the OH&S inspector comes to your stall.
The Celebrate Mooroolbark Committee will immediately stop any activity deemed to be unsafe.
Please arrange for replenishments of your supplies if you run out of stock before the end of the day. NO stalls are to pack up early, unless there is an emergency.
You must include an itemised list of all items (and prices) that you will be selling on the day. This is to avoid excessive duplication. If you are found to be selling items on the day not included below, your stall may be shut down.
Anyone providing cooked food must have a person in attendance who has completed the Certificate of Food Handling. Anyone selling food or drinks must also have a Temporary Food Registration Permit from Yarra Ranges Council. These certificates must be available at the stall on the day and copies should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are not sure whether this applies to you then please visit:https://streatrader.health.vic.gov.au/Or contact the Yarra Ranges Council Health Department by calling 1300 368 333.
Please note: Council Health officers attend the Festival.
Onsite permits must be booked at the time of application (see the application form).Permits to place on your vehicle will be issued upon registration on the day, to those who have booked and paid for them. Very limited sites available with vehicle space.
For those without a permit, all day parking is available at the rear of the Community Centre.Enter to the left of the Senior Citizens building on Brice Avenue and follow this driveway to the end. We cannot guarantee a space for everyone so get in early to get a spot.
• Vehicles without an on-site permit MUST be removed from the site by 9am or risk a fine of $60.00 to be paid on the day – before trading.• Vehicles will not be permitted to re-enter the site until after 4pm.
Some stallholders in recent years have packed up and left before 4pm, which is the close of festival. We insist that all stallholders remain onsite until 4pm, as it is a OHS issue for vehicles to be moving around on site while the festival is still running.
Celebrate Mooroolbark is an outdoor event. In the event of extreme weather conditions, the event may be cancelled (extreme heat, heavy rain, strong wind). Stallholders should call 9726 5488 from 7am on the day of the event to establish if the event is being cancelled.
In the unfortunate event that cancellation takes place, registration and insurance fees will NOT be refunded.
Thank you once again for your interest and support of the local community.
