Get on the Path to World Language Proficiency and Global Citizenship.
Conference Goals:
● Provide teachers tools to align their classroom instruction with our new proficiency-based TEKS for LOTE
● Promote world language proficiency and global citizenship as 21st century skills that are critical to college and career­ readiness.
● Equip teachers with skills to help students find success in the world language classroom and beyond.
Proposal Expectations:
To provide a quality, meaningful experience for participants at the conference, it is expected that all sessions and workshops:

* reflect current, research-based, best practices in the field;

* incorporate standards-based language instruction;

* promote a communicative approach to language teaching and learning;

* include a plan for assessing participants’ learning that takes place in the session or workshop;

* focus on qualities of effective teachers and strategies that help participants to become more effective;

* provide resources that participants can use to reference in the future or to immediately implement into their instruction.

Presentation Specifications:
Sessions are 75 minute presentations that all conference participants may attend.
Presenting and Membership:
• Session presenters are required to be members of TFLA and register online for the conference.
• Primary session presenters will pay a discounted conference rate of $82.50, which is half of the regular conference fee, and this discounted conference rate applies only to the primary presenter.
• Each additional presenter must pay the full conference fee and be a member of TFLA.
• All presenters need to register for the conference no later than September 1.
• Formal acceptance of proposals is contingent on confirmation of current membership status.
• Non-members may submit proposals, but must become TFLA members online prior to registering for the conference.
• One presenter per workshop will continue to receive complimentary conference registration, and all workshop presenters must be current TFLA members in good standing.

NOTE: The primary presenter for each session submission will remain the same, regardless of the number of times the session is presented.

Out of State Presenters:
Any potential presenter from out of state who is a member of another state’s language organization can submit proof of current membership of their state’s organization and that membership will be honored.

Proposal Evaluation:
The TFLA Proposal Review Committee reserves the right to request clarification on and/or revision of proposals under review to ensure their alignment with the vision and theme of the conference.

All session and workshop proposals are reviewed and evaluated by a committee and scored with rubrics in an effort to provide the highest possible quality of content to our attendees.

Proposal Submission:
Members interested in presenting either a session or a workshop must complete and submit the form below. The deadline for submission is April 15. Presenters will be notified on or around June 30, as to whether or not their proposals have been accepted.
Proposal Agreement:
I understand that my presentation will not be published in the conference program, and that I will not be considered an official presenter until 1) my presentation is accepted, 2) I have registered for the conference, and 3) my TFLA membership is current.
