WHAT IS 2nd Year Experience (2YE)? The 2nd Year Experience (2YE) Program ensures student’s continued success and retention at UC San Diego. 2nd year students are encouraged to participate to gain support in programs offering community, advising, and access to campus resources to help students navigate the unique challenges and topics that often arise during the second year and beyond.
Focus on 2nd year & upper class students to engage in a range of flexible high impact practice opportunities- including career readiness experiences- that they can tailor to their own goals. These experiences are designed to prepare students for life after graduation by building skills, networks, and a strong sense of purpose.
WHAT ARE OUR PROGRAM BENEFITS? Students that register and participate in the program will be;
- Matched with a Peer Mxntor for the academic year
- Priority enrollment into EDS 23 a 2-unit seminar Winter quarter. Students who took EDS 23 shared; 90% Agreed that the course helped them learn more about their desired Career goals. 94% Agreed that the seminar had a positive impact on their adjustment and sense of belonging at UCSD*
- Priority to participate in Career Launch Program in Spring quarter. Students who participate are twice as likely to secure a job within six months of graduation**
