The Fall 2025 Admission Cycle opens March 24, 2025 and closes June 30, 2025. No applications or entrance exam tests will be accepted after June 30, 2025. The Kaplan Entrance Exam must be taken onsite at LCC at one of the below times. Testing from outside entities are not accepted.
TESTING CENTER: is Betz Building, room 231. Look for signs in the Betz Building to direct you. Room changes are rare, but may occur so give yourself time to arrive and find the room before testing starts.
You must have established a Kaplan account prior to using this form. The date cannot be set up for a testing student, without the Kaplan account. Remember your Kaplan account user name and password, as that is how the test is accessed once attendance is validated.
Please use this form ONCE to select a test date.
If you must change your test date, please email nursing@lamarcc.edu with your name, scheduled date, and the date you wish to reschedule. Rescheduled tests must be communicated with 24 hours of the scheduled test. No-shows may not be permitted to schedule again.
Test Dates with zero participants 24 hours prior to the start time, will be cancelled.
Students wishing to enter the Nursing Program at Lamar CC for Fall 2025 must pass the Entrance exam as well as have all the pre-requisite courses completed by August 15, 2025 with official transcripts sent to the Registrar for review and transfer. The courses must be completed with a C or higher, and the cumulative GPA on those pre-requisite courses only must be 2.5 or higher. Admission into the program is competitive and preference will be given to those with GPAs of 2.75 or higher on the pre-requisites, especially when the BIO courses have B or A grades entered.
Various study guides are available for the exam, available from online retailers like Amazon. The one by the exam company (Kaplan) in the most recent edition, is likely to provide the best preparation experience for students, although LCC and its employees do not make a recommendation for a specific test prep program.
