UNITE TO BUILD A CULTURE OF CHANGE MAKERS & PROBLEM SOLVERS - "MAKING BETTER CITIES TOGETHER"
YOUR HOST: Open Design Afrika Festival (edition 06), sponsored by the City of Cape Town
Open Design Afrika (ODA) is a proudly Afrikan social enterprise and non-profit company that represents a global and local community of thought leaders, change-makers, makers and inventors, social entrepreneurs and creative problem-solvers. Open Design Afrika is an international knowledge-sharing platform in Afrika. This platform aims to build capacity in Afrika through creativity, specifically by creating accessible opportunities for as many people as possible to learn, share and participate with one another as Afrikan citizens. To this end, ODA is dedicated to nurturing a future-ready culture of problem-solvers and change-makers who are equipped and empowered with the appropriate 21st century skills set that will enable them to add value to the future world of business, our environments and society at large.
At Open Design Afrika we build capacity through creativity and through creating accessible opportunities. We believe in the power of creativity, design-led innovation and the makers movement and the value we collectively add to socio-economic development and through inspiring others. Most recently Forbes declared that CREATIVITY IS THE TOP LEADERSHIP SKILL OF THE FUTURE! We could not agree more which is why our team at Open Design Afrika is hard at work to create more accessible opportunities to showcase the genius change makers from Afrika on a world stage!
Open Design Afrika is a proud partner of the UNESCO Cities of Design Network and also serves on the Cape Town UNESCO City of Design team. Open Design Afrika is also a proud member of the World Design Organisation.
