About the NBNC

The Fordham National Basketball Negotiation Competition ("NBNC") simulates NBA negotiations in which law students, acting as lawyers, manage a series of legal problems relating to real-life scenarios. The simulations consist of a common set of facts known by all participants and confidential information known only to the participants representing a particular side. All of the simulations deal with the same general topic, but the negotiation situation varies with each round and level of the competition. Teams of two competitors will represent each party. Competitors are scored exclusively on their oral argument performance.

2024 NBNC Competition

The competition’s preliminary rounds will be held on Friday, March 8th. The final rounds will be held on Saturday, March 9th. This will be an in-person event held at Fordham University School of Law, located at 150 West 62nd Street, New York, NY. To comply with Fordham's COVID-19 protocols, all competitors, coaches, and judges must be fully vaccinated to participate in the competition. If we are unable to host the competition in person, it will be held online via Zoom. We will keep everyone updated as we receive more information.

We strongly encourage all teams to read the entire 2024 rules packet before signing up for the competition. For more information, please email Natalie Maugeri and Jack Biddle at FordhamNBNC@gmail.com.
