It’s time to start thinking about what sociables you want to host!  This is a fun and great way to help raise funds for our school while making new friends!

A sociable is a party or event that you host – by yourself or with a group. It can be just for adults or kids, a specific grade level or all of the above – just pick a theme or focus that you enjoy! You donate the event cost and we will help promote and sell the tickets starting at our Mid-Autumn Festival on September 20. 

All funds raised through ticket sales help our PTO pay for major expenses that our school needs such as learning software subscriptions, Chinese language books, filtered water bottle fillers, and to support teacher needs requested throughout the school year.

Sociables have been one of the BEST ways to get to know other MIMS families –They help us build community while having fun! If you’re new to MIMS, it’s one of the best ways to get plugged in.

Notable examples from years past include:

• Chinatown Crawl - Find delicious Asian snacks and/or specialty Asian goods. Mixture of cultural teaching, food tasting, and friendship.
• Songs & Soju - a team of moms held a teacher/mom event where they ate, drank and sang karaoke.
• Dumpling making party - Grade level party learning to make dumplings with teachers and parents
• Gymnastics Party - Gymnastics gym where the kids played and had snacks
• Crawfish Boil - Annual MIMS crawfish boil! Come ready to peel, eat, drink and mingle.
• Buffalo Wings and Bourbon - Enjoy top shelf bourbons with wings and company.
• Mother & Daughter Tea - Afternoon Tea event with your daughter
• Bath Bomb Making - Make colorful, delicious smelling homemade bath bombs!
• Holiday cookie decorating party
• Party at Cidercade - Got Game? Challenge friends, kids, spouse to beat your high score!
• Just Dance Gaming Party
• End of the Year Pool Party
• Poker Night

Please submit your Fall Sociable by September 16* – Tickets go on sale at the Mid-Autumn Festival until all tickets are sold. The earlier you submit your event details, the more time there will be to promote the event.
