Montgomery County Board of Education Advisory Committee on Communication and Community Engagement - Student Application
The Montgomery County Board of Education ("Board") established the Advisory Committee on Communication and Community Engagement ("Committee") to serve the Board in an advisory capacity, and shall not have any decision-making authority. The Committee shall work to improve Montgomery County Public Schools’ (MCPS) and the Board's communication and engagement with the community on critical key topics selected by the Board each year.
For 2026-2027, the Committee's focus will be on the upcoming elementary boundary study and on developing a communication and engagement plan. Consequently, Committee members will work closely with district leaders to strengthen communication and engagement efforts. The Committee will meet at least four times per year, with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Members are volunteers who will serve a one-year term, with Natalie Zimmerman serving as the Committee's Board representative. The student must be enrolled full time in an MCPS school, and be a student in good standing. Interested applicants must submit this application by 12:00 pm on Friday, June 19, 2026.
