This checklist must be completed by a staff member from the partner agency and provided to Inspiration Corporation for each individual being referred to the scholarship program. Please check each box to to indicate that a staff person at the partner agency has discussed the subject with the participant and believes they can meet each requirement. *

Is at least 18 years old.

Understands that the fund will only support vocation training programs under 12 months, or completion of an associate degree in 30 months.

For educational degree applicants, understand that they must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application, if eligible. Assistance can be provided if needed.

Must complete a personal statement to explain why further education is required to meet their specific career goal.

Understands what the employment opportunities are once their training or education is complete. Including expected salary for projected career path.

Has a household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline and can provide documentation (pay stubs from household members are an acceptable form of documentation).

Does NOT already have an associate's degree or higher.

Applicant is a Chicago-area resident seeking to attend vocational or educational program in the Chicago area.

Applicant has support for general living expenses during their education or training, as the Jericho Scholarship Fund does not support those.

The application process includes school comparison and hiring demand and expected wages for the career they are exploring. We can only consider and approve an application to the Jericho program when all required items have been completed and reviewed.

Jericho Scholarship can only be applied to a credential or an associate’s degree. For both of these, preferred programs would be at a nonprofit program or government supported program such as the City Colleges of Chicago, community colleges or a state-funded school. Exceptions may be made in cases where there are no other options.

If students enroll before their application is approved, we are not responsible for any money they owe to the training provider or school. If they change your educational goal, program or school, they’ll have to update their application and begin the process again to be approved.

We want to support any programs and scholars that we can, but some programs are not eligible for Jericho Scholarship support.
