Please read this statement from the team and acknowledge that you read it:

Perinatal Peace provides a free, safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space for women who are trying to conceive, currently pregnant or in the postpartum period (moms with kids ages 0-3). This support group, facilitated by licensed professionals on a volunteer basis and supported by the Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR), aims to offer emotional support and community to women on this sacred journey of motherhood.
By participating, you agree to the following:
This space is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.

It is intended for women experiencing mild perinatal challenges. Those with severe challenges or in crisis should seek immediate professional help.

Facilitators will uphold confidentiality, except in cases of abuse, suicidal or homicidal ideation, or serious health risks, where they are legally required to report.

You are responsible for upholding confidentiality within the group, which is the heart of healthy group norms for this supportive space. This means what is shared within the group, stays within the group. Any breach may result in dismissal.

Facilitators may dismiss participants if they believe the group may not be the best or safest option for them due to serious health risks and will provide appropriate resources which are better suited for the individual.

Conflicts of interest may prevent some facilitators from offering personal medical or mental health support on an individual basis. This will be assessed on a case by case basis. However, you may ask any facilitator for external community resources.

Each participant will uphold a positive and respectful atmosphere even when opinions differ in the group. Facilitators and IAR are not responsible for disagreements between participants during the course of the group. Any decisions or actions participants partake in should not be attributed to the support group or IAR.
