APPLICATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, July 6, 2022 - 3:00 pm
ASSEMBLY AREA: All entries will be given a placement number.
These numbers are for the order of the parade and for judging.
LINEUP LOCATION: Academy Street - parallel to the Dow Field
LINEUP TIMES:
10:15 am - Large Floats (longer than 12 feet)
11:15 am - Small Floats + Walkers (12' or less)
12:15 pm - Marching Bands + Antique Cars
12:30 pm - First Responders (assemble at the Franconia Fire Station)
JUDGING: Judging will occur at 12:00 pm. Floats must be in place and ready by this time to be considered.
FLOATS: It is the responsibility of each entrant to see that their float clears all obstacles, including tree limbs, traffic lights, and overhanging utility wires. Floats must not exceed 13 feet high, 8 feet wide or 40 feet long. Damage to any property, public or private, caused by any entry, will be the responsibility of the entrant and not the parade committee, Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce or the Town of Franconia.
NOTHING MAY BE THROWN FROM PARADE ENTRIES: For the safety of individuals, especially children, items such as candy, trinkets, promotional items and/or brochures MAY NOT be thrown from any entry. Items may be handed to spectators from either side.
PLEASE NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL: before or during the parade. This rule will be strictly enforced.
PERFORMANCES ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE: Due to the rules and regulations set forth by the NH Department of Safety, parade participants cannot stop to perform along the route. There will be a slight pause when the parade reaches the reviewing stand for the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem.
EMERGENCY VEHICLES: Due to possible equestrian and marching band participation, we request that NO SIRENS OR AIR HORNS BE USED BY EMERGENCY VEHICLES DURING THE PARADE. However, any and all lights may be displayed.
