If you want to know you'll have a friendly face waiting for you in Rochester, or if you want to be a first-timer's reliable conference guide, join the ALTA Conference Wayfinders! Our conference is growing, and as we see attendance increase, we know you want ALTA42 to be as warm, welcoming, and intimate an experience as we do. Fill out this form by October 21, 2019, and we'll pair up translators coming to the conference for the first time with those who know it best.
Are you attending the ALTA conference for the first time this fall? Or are you a seasoned expert of punctuation panels, riveting readings, and dynamic Declamación? If you are looking for an "in" to this year's conference, or if you want to be someone else's, this new program is for you.
How it works:Once this form closes, ALTA staff will connect you to another translator by email, and the two of you can take it from there. You decide when to meet and how you’d like to share in the conference experience. We hope you’ll meet up at least once, ideally early in the conference, to get to know each other, for conference veterans to share tips about how best to navigate the conference, and to do what ALTA attendees do best: talk translation!
The opening reception kicks off the conference, and is a great time to meet other translators. To the extent possible, ALTA will aim to pair attendees who will both be at the reception.
If you have any questions about this new program, please don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
We welcome everyone to our conference and are committed to making our programming and events accessible, and to making arrangements that allow all attendees to participate in the conversation.
