The pandemic coronavirus is a threat to global health and prosperity unprecedented in recent history. While the health sciences are the forefront of mitigation, technology has already played major roles in dissemination of information and continuity of operations. Further, it will likely continue to be important in addressing the downstream effects of the pandemic that we are only just beginning to see.

Those of us who work at the intersection of technology and human factors may be especially poised to make contributions of this kind. Labs like our HCIL have an enormous amount of talent, creativity, and goodwill, and we want to leverage that to make any difference we can. As an initial, but crucial, step, we are bringing the community together for a (virtual!) hackathon April 4th-5th. We hope you can participate!
