City Walk Street Team Representative Application
City Walk is a vision to improve connections between nine Providence neighborhoods, Downtown, Roger Williams Park, and India Point Park. In addition to improving safety for all roadway users, the project will create a unique opportunity to celebrate the diversity and cultures of our neighborhoods. The City of Providence has approximately $2.3M to implement the vision created by the community through this project. The corridors included in the project are Broad Street between Roger Williams Park and Trinity Square, Pine Street and Friendship Street between Broad Street and I-95, and Clifford Street between I-95 and Richmond Street. Broad Street is considered Phase 2 and is planned for completion in 2019, and the other streets are considerd Phase 1, with planned completion in 2018.

Street Team representatives will communicate about the project to various neighborhood groups and are encouraged to bring back constructive feedback from the community to the City led design team. The ideal candidate is outgoing and energetic with first hand or direct knowledge of Providence neighborhoods. Strong multi-lingual communication skills in languages spoken in South Providence are desired. The part-time position will pay $15/hour for 40-60 hours total over the course of the project. Scheduling will be determined by the specific events identified for the Street Team to attend.
