**There are certain answers that indicate the need to see an orthodontist even with a low score. These cases are indicated under each question.**
SCORE: 3 or more - Call an orthodontist today! It is highly likely that your child could benefit from some form of orthodontic treatment. For your first appointment, Dr. Gleason will take extensive orthodontic records and perform a thorough examination. He will then sit down with you to discuss with you any recommended treatment options and the benefits of them. If Dr. Gleason feels like your child is ready to get started with interceptive orthodontic treatment, we will even get you started the same day!
SCORE:1-2 - It would be a very good idea to schedule an appointment with an orthodontist. At Gleason Orthodontics, our consultations are provided at no charge and such a visit could greatly benefit your child. While your child may not need orthodontic treatment, it is still a good idea to get an evaluation.
SCORE: 0 - While there is no visible signs of your child needing to see an orthodontist, it may still be a good idea to see one. At Gleason Orthodontics we take free panoramic x-rays of all of our patients. Many dentists do not take these x-rays until until patients are in their late teens and some do not take them at all. These x-rays are important, however, as they reveal what is happening under the gums. In more than a few instances this simple x-ray has lead to a simple treatment that has saved patients from getting impacted teeth and has even helped some to avoid orthodontic treatment all together!
