This list is being compiled by a grass roots citizen group dedicated to supporting the common good in the City of Kelowna, BC. The purpose is to identify individuals willing and able to offer support and services to assist others during the COVID-19 Health Emergency.
Kelowna has a solid infrastructure of agencies and teams set up to rise to this occasion. However, staff and volunteer numbers are strained due to immune compromised individuals who may be self isolating. These agencies are also under unusual duress due to increased service level needs and operational challenges.
This list will be shared upon request with groups that are doing mutual aid work around COVID-19 in Kelowna, such as the Central Okanagan Food Bank, Hope Okanagan, Metro Community Church, United Way, the Salvation Army and other established local relief agencies.
We encourage everyone to connect directly with those agencies and their volunteer intake process if you already have a specific agency in mind. The intention is not to get in their way, but to streamline the outpouring of generosity and desire to help so many in our wonderful community are expressing. By creating a data base of willing and able volunteers, we can connect providers with any gaps.
In addition to volunteering, please consider donating to the Central Okanagan Food Bank or volunteering with their distribution efforts. They are a critical hub supporting many other special focus agencies in our community.

laurence@cofoodbank.com https://cofoodbank.com/volunteer-information/Thank you everyone for stepping up to encourage #caremongering during this time of uncertainty. Safe distancing is key, and all volunteer agencies have assured us they are complying with the BC Centre for Disease Control's latest recommendations.
In a time when we must keep a safe physical distance, it's important to reinforce the roots that hold our community up. Those roots are based in mutual respect, care, consideration, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Social isolation does not mean we are in this alone.
Important: Noting that you would like to be contacted about any of the work mentioned below does not constitute a binding commitment. Checking "yes" just means we will connect you with any opportunities or agencies in need of the services you've indicated you may be able to provide.
