The Land Stewardship Project is looking for new board members in 2024! We aim to elect a minimum of three new board members at the fall 2024 Board meeting. Board terms are 4 years and all board members must be LSP members. Typically, the Board Development Committee asks board members, staff, and steering committee members for candidate recommendations. This year we are also asking our broader LSP membership and supporters for nominations. You can nominate yourself or nominate another LSP member by filling out this form.
The Board Development Committee will meet in mid-July to discuss the nominations and begin meeting with potential candidates for Board service. The process includes a couple conversations or in-person meetings with nominees--one with a member of the Board Development Committee and one with the Executive Director. When those conversations are complete, the committee is then responsible for bringing a slate of canidadates to the Board for approval.
The committee is looking to prioritize the following attributes for the vacant seats, but we would love to hear from any passionate LSP member who has interest in furthering our mission via board service.
Established Diversified Crop or Livestock Farmer
- Southeast Minnesota or Northeast Iowa Region LSP Member
Local Food and/or Meat Processing Background
Climate Science or Working Lands Conservation Background
Executive Level Leadership Experience
Financial Expertise
If you have more than one member to nominate, great! You can submit this form more than once. If you have questions, please email board@landstewardshipproject.org
With gratitude,
Land Stewardship Project Board Development Committee Members
