2024-2025 Shoveling Sign up
Do you need help shoveling your sidewalk and/or driveway this winter? Sign up for LCC's Volunteer Shoveling Program and get matched with a volunteer. The volunteer shoveling network works to help seniors and people with disabilities in the Greater Longfellow area who are unable to keep up with the Minnesota winter on their own. LCC will work to connect volunteers with neighbors that request assistance based on proximity, who then work out an arrangement independently.

Please remember this is a volunteer program. Volunteers are given 24 hours to shovel, as the City's snow removal policy requires, and they will do their best to honor that, but situations arise. Volunteers will communicate with recipients about any unavailability. It is up to the recipient to find alternative services in the case a volunteer cannot come. Recipients will work with LCC if no-shows become habitual.

Additionally, we do our best to match everyone with a volunteer, however there is no guarantee we will be able to match you. We will let you know about waitlist status, and if and when a volunteer becomes available.

If you have any questions, please contact LCC Community Organizer Ben Howery, ben@longfellow.org

*Please note that this is an informal volunteer network and LCC takes no responsibility or liability for any accidents, injuries or property damage volunteers or homeowners/renters may experience.  LCC is not responsible or liable for volunteers or homeowners/renters who voluntarily and knowingly subject themselves to certain risks while performing or receiving volunteer services. Any tickets or penalties incurred for shoveling delays is not LCC's responsibility.  LCC’s role in this process is solely to facilitate the initial connection.
