To The Moon 2026 Committee and Working Group Interest Forms - Introduction
We are always trying to grow our Leadership and invite you to apply for Committees and/or Working Groups
These committees and groups are supported by corresponding teams and BOD member(s).

Committee
  • Events: Oversees production of the Event, coordinates all with Event Department Leads, proposes new ideas to BOD, and implements BOD-approved initiatives. The chair works with BOD to create agenda including new business and opportunities 
  • Finance: Provides financial oversight in line with mission and policies, sets financial policies/recommendations for BOD, creates/monitors budget, ensures tax/financial regulation compliance, and consults with external tax specialists
  • Governance: Oversees governance structure, recruits and nominates new leadership, recommends committee/working group leaders, reviews & proposes updates to governing documents (e.g., bylaws),  submits recommendations to BOD
Working Groups
  • Promotion & Engagement: Promotes TTM to participants & public, creates and executes promotional strategies, collaborates with other Committees & Working Groups, ensures content aligns with the principles, and manages social media and newsletters (2 principles/month)
  • Art: Supports interactive, community-driven art at the Event and globally, manages grant programs, mentorship, civic art initiatives, provides resources/funding to artists, promotes public art in Tennessee and worldwide
  • Principles: Ensures alignment with the 10 Principles + Consent (11th), creates/oversees education programs on the Principles, supports regional events, theme camps, and initiatives in applying the Principles, works with BOD committees to embed Principles into projects, emphasis R.I.D.E. initiatives, and helps drive BiPoc Art Grants to identify artists and solicit their participation in TTM
The ideal candidates will have prior TTM or other regional burn experience.

Below are some general expectations. 

This is a year-round volunteer position, with a commitment of up to 2/hours a week.

GENERAL DEPARTMENT LEAD EXPECTATIONS:
  • Attend virtual monthly/bi-monthly meetings
  • Be cordial and professional with other members of leadership. We’re a small team with a LOT to do; you don’t have to like everyone, but you do need to be a team player. This is a volunteer role, but professionalism is expected to get the job done.
