STAND-UP TRAGEDY Student Application
Hi there!

Thank you so much for your interest in applying for this exciting new project! Please fill out the application below and we will be reaching out to you shortly. The deadline to send in your application is Friday, September 1, 2017.

The objective of this project is to provide local high school students with tools and resources to develop an informed and passionate artistic voice, the opportunity to receive theater training, and work in a professional setting. This project will offer young adults living in Dallas with a safe place where students can strengthen their relationships in the community, while also cultivating new relationships with their peers and local theater artists.

This project will be a culmination of four weeks of intensive acting and movement classes taught by local theater professionals for high school students from neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas. Following this four-week period, students will enter a rehearsal process collaborating with professional actors, designers, and directors resulting in a theatrical production of STAND-UP TRAGEDY, a play by Bill Cain.

Classes will begin on October 3rd and will be held Tuesdays-Fridays from 5:00pm-6:00pm at the Latino Cultural Center and Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Rehearsals will begin November 2nd and will be held Tuesdays-Fridays from 5:00pm-6:00pm or from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Latino Cultural Center and the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Performances will be December 7th-December 16th on Thursdays-Saturdays at 8:00pm at the Latino Cultural Center. A detailed class and production calendar will be provided.

Students MUST be available for the duration of classes, rehearsal process and performance dates.
