Who would you like to be considered for the Lane College Hall of Distinction? Now is the time to submit your nominations! Nominations are open through July 15, 2019

Inductees to the Hall of Distinction will demonstrate success in their career, church, and community. Extraordinary commitment, dedication, leadership, and service to the advancement of Lane College through service and deed are required. Nominees must meet the following criteria:
 
•   Must have attended Lane College (except nominees for the Friend of Lane College or Lifetime Service Awards) 
•   Must have been recognized on the state, regional, national, or global level
•   Is active or has been active in career, church, or community
•   Sets a standard of excellence in his/her chosen field
•   Demonstrated significant professional accomplishment and exemplified the educational mission of Lane College

YOUNG ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Recognizing an alumnus under age 40 who has already had an impact on their chosen field.

FRIEND OF LANE COLLEGE AWARD
Recognizing a friend (s) who did not graduate from Lane College but who supports the college by giving their financial support, time, talent, and enthusiasm.

LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD
Recognizing an employee, or former employee who has contributed significantly to the growth and stability of Lane College. Must have contributed at least 40 years of service at Lane College. (Can be given posthumously.)

LEGACY AWARD
Recognizing alumni for transcendent lifetime accomplishments. The highest honor Lane bestows. (Can be given posthumously.)

Point System
HONORABLE ACHIEVEMENT (30 points)
Demonstration of distinguished contributions to society on the state, regional, national, or global levels.

CAREER (20 points)
Demonstration of noteworthy accomplishments in his/her field.

COMMUNITY (20 points)
Demonstration of service to his/her community through civic, religious, charitable, business, professional, or other contributions.

LOYALTY TO LANE  (30 points)
Demonstration of financial giving, support of Lane College through his/her time and talent, and utilizes Lane College educational services in her/his occupations.

METHOD OF SELECTION
The Alumni Awards Committee is appointed by the president and consists of one or more persons in each of the following groups: Alumni, staff, faculty, students, and friends of the College.

The Alumni Awards Committee, in consultation with the President, the Director of Alumni Affairs, and the Director of the Annual Fund, annually determines the schedule and deadline for the selection process, which is expected to completed by July 31. Completed nominations shall be submitted to the Alumni Awards Committee. Using the criteria above, the committee will consider all nominees and make its selections. The committee shall determine the appropriate category in which honorees are recognized.  

Nominees who are not selected may have their materials considered the following year as long as the nominator provides a current resume (if there is new information) by the deadline of the following year. Those not selected in the second year will not be reconsidered until the passage of three years after their initial nomination.  

To ensure permanent recognition, a plaque with the names of the Hall of Distinction inductees will become part of the Lane College Archives and each inductee will be provided with an individual plaque.

All nominations are reviewed by the Alumni Awards Committee. Chosen candidates will be honored at the President’s Luncheon during Homecoming Week 2019. Nomination forms are DUE by . July15, 2019
