Applications are due no later than May 20, 2016. We will notify you of an award on or about June 1, 2016. Applicants that do not receive a waiver will be able to purchase registration at the earlybird rate of $100.
Any applications received after May 20, 2016 will be considered ONLY if there are available resources.
REGISTRATION WAIVERSDiversity waivers cover the meeting registration fee only. If you receive a waiver, you will still need to cover your lodging, food and travel unless you also are approved for a scholarship. We also have a very limited amount of money to allocate for travel and lodging subsidies.
TRAVEL/LODGING SUBSIDIES---Any travel/food/lodging subsidy you receive will be reimbursable. You must pay the expense up front and submit receipts after the meeting. If you get a subsidy, you will be reimbursed shortly after the meeting. No funds will be available before the meeting.---You must contribute a minimum of 10% of the cost of your trip. This may be personal funds, state or local funds or from fundraising.---Please use the least expensive mode of transportation and the least expensive housing options possible for your situation. ---The maximum you may receive is a total of $500 not including the cost of registration.
This application is confidential and will only be shared for the purposes of granting fee waivers. A sub-committee of the Annual National Meeting Committee will make decisions on waivers. Preference will be given for all waivers to people who have never attended an Annual National Meeting or Presidential Nominating Convention. Other considerations include local and state party activity, GPUS committee activity, Green National Committee (GNC) delegate/alternate status and Presidential Nominating Convention (PNC) Delegate status.
Because this is a nominating convention, we have to report any subsidies anyone receives to the FEC. Your application is still confidential but if you get a waiver or subsidy of any kind, we will need to report that. Please do not apply unless you agree to have your name submitted to the FEC which is a public website.
