2017 UW-Madison Science Expeditions: Presentation Sign-Up

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 15th Annual UW-Madison Science Expeditions open house Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2, 2017!

Since 2003, UW Science Expeditions has been welcoming the people of Wisconsin to their public, land-grant research university. We appreciate your help in extending hospitality to visitors to campus on this special weekend.

You can provide at least three types of events as part of UW Science Expeditions:

1. Exploration Stations: These staffed, hands-on exhibits will run on two different dates, at three different locations. They are: from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery (Discovery Building) on Saturday April 1; from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC) on Sunday April 2; and from 10 AM to 2 PM at Signe Skott Cooper Hall for School of Nursing faculty only on Sunday April 2.

2. Science Spectaculars: Shows such as Wonders of Physics or public lectures like Wednesday Nite @ The Lab can run anytime on April 1-2. You provide the presenter and the campus venue. Or contact Tom Zinnen at zinnen@biotech.wisc.edu for help nailing down a venue.

3. Destinations for Exploration: Nearly any UW site can be a Destination for Exploration. Events can include Tours of your lab or facility, or an Open House through part or all of your building. Examples from previous years include an Open House at the DC Smith Greenhouse and at the Botany Greenhouse, and both an Open House and Tours of the Atmospheric Oceanic & Space Sciences Building.

If after you register and find you need to change any of your information, please contact Ana Garic at ana.garic@wisc.edu. We will contact you if we have any questions or concerns. You will also be receiving an email one week prior to the event with logistics about setting up your Exploration Station in addition to emails from your site coordinator.

Deadline for signing up is March 15, 2017. If you sign up after this date, we cannot guarantee a spot.

Stipend (Up to $200 for Exploration Stations, $100 for Destination for Exploration, and $350 for Spectaculars)
If you need funding assistance for materials for any of the above, please enter the dollar amount. If you do not need funding assistance please enter zero. Note that only limited funds are available, so please apply early. After completing this form please contact Cheryl Redman (redman@biotech.wisc.edu) immediately to start the process to receive funds for your participation. You must contact Cheryl in order to receive funds.
