In short, this program consists of poetry slam workshops that use the structure of debate.

Your student will grow a love for poetry, become proficient at debating and public speaking, and have FUN!

This program aims to teach students critical thinking methods, rhetorical strategy, poetic writing, and public speaking through the analysis, composition, and performance of slam poetry.

The program will culminate with a performance at a poetry festival in 2024.

All workshops will be at Richland Library, Sandhills, 763 Fashion Drive., Columbia, SC 29223 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. on select Saturdays.
