Whistle Stop 2024 Registration
Whistle Stop is Purdue Night Train's annual Lindy Hop workshop where all levels of dancers can take classes with some of the best instructors around! With a 20+ year tradition, we are one of the largest student-run swing exchanges in the country! This year's instructors include Peter Flahiff and Lauren Smith,
Caleb Teicher teaching Solo Jazz, Ursula Hicks and Jeron Tuell, and Jamica Zion and Shelby Johnson.

Corner Pocket Jazz Band will be performing live both Friday and Saturday night, with a technical skills competition on Friday and an open Mix n Match on Saturday.  Finally, Sunday includes both elective classes and one-on-one meetings with our fabulous instructors. This is a weekend you definitely won't want to miss. We can't to dance with you!

SCHOLARSHIPS
Lindy Hop is awesome, and we want everyone to be able to experience it! Therefore, we are offering a volunteering scholarship program for those who can not attend the event at full cost.

To sign up to volunteer, you will need to first pay the full cost of attendance, then in the last section of this form request volunteering hours. You will be compensated at $10/hr up to the cost of attendance at the conclusion of the event.

Please Note: We will distribute volunteer positions fairly among all applicants, which means you may not be assigned all the hours you request if your request is extensive.  You must request volunteering hours no later than October 1 to be guaranteed.

Are you planning to participate in our competitions?
This year at Whistle Stop, we are holding two competitions.

Friday night's competition is a fun technical skills competition. All skill and experience levels are encouraged to participate! For this competition, a emcee will call dance prompts such as sugar push in 4 counts or swing out in 6 counts. The competitors must do their best to follow the instructions or be tapped out.
Cost: $5 Prize: Whistle Stop Memorabilia

Saturday night's competition is an Open Mix n Match. All skill and experience levels are encouraged to participate! Competitors will be randomly paired with another follow or lead and be judged on their connection, creativity, technique/skill, and performance/crowd engagement.
Cost: $5 Prizes: Passes to other Lindy Hop events

This is only to gauge interest and is not a commitment. You can only register and pay for the competitions at the event.
