PLEASE NOTE: this enrollment form is divided into two or three steps with different questions, depending on whether you choose to volunteer for "Setup and Teardown," or "During the Encounter."
Thank you for helping us make the New York Encounter possible! The work of the volunteers is essential for this beautiful event to become reality.
Please make travel and lodging arrangements according to the following time frame of the volunteer work at New York Encounter:- Setup volunteers start on Friday 2/15/2019 at 7:00 a.m.- Non-setup volunteers start on Friday 2/15/2019 at 2:00 p.m.- If you are unavailable Friday night, you should arrive on Saturday 2/16/2019 by 8:30 a.m.- Teardown volunteers will finish late on the night of Sunday 2/17/2019, likely after midnight.
All volunteers are encouraged to attend the final assembly with Fr. Jose Medina in New York on the morning of Monday 2/18/2019 (time and location TBD).
This year we encourage people to volunteer for one of the following options:- "Setup and Teardown" (Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 p.m. until after midnight);- "During the Encounter" (between Friday 2:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 p.m.).
You are certainly welcome to sign up for both, but please be aware that it may lead to a long work schedule on Friday and/or Sunday.
The Setup and Teardown of the New York Encounter will require a separate team of volunteers who will work before and after the Encounter, but will have no duties during the Encounter.
SETUP- Setup is from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 2/15/2019- You won't have to work all these hours! We will organize shifts.
TEARDOWN- Teardown begins at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, 2/17/2019 and ends after midnight.- This is a critical task, and we need as many people to help as late as they can stay.
