What is the Student Senate? What does the Student Senate do?
The Albion College Student Senate is the voice of the student body, and senators regularly meet with the administration to provide input. The Student Senate has three main committees: Appropriations, Engagements, and Academic and Student Affairs (ASA).

The Appropriations Committee is responsible for approving all student organization budgets in accordance with the Student Activity Fee (SAF) Guidelines.

The Engagements Committee is responsible for increasing involvement and spirit on campus. It manages events such as Homecoming and Fuel for Finals.

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee is responsible for a range of issues related to the student experience and academics. This includes participating in the interim and tenure review process for professors.
How do I join the Student Senate?
Students who attend at least three Senate meetings have the option to be sworn in as a Senator. The Senate will hold a brief discussion and vote, and if voted in one will take the oath of office and become an official member. There are also elections held every spring for returning students and every fall for new students.
