2022 Lafayette High School Homecoming Parade Information for Floats or Volunteers Participating in the Parade
The Lafayette High School Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, beginning at Green Pines Elementary School and ending in the Pool Side- Lower Parking Lot at Lafayette High School. The 2022 theme is HOLLYWOOD! The line-up of vehicles or walking groups will begin after 4:30 p.m., depart the parking lot at approximately 5:30 p.m., and conclude at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the lower parking lot at Lafayette (end of the parade route). PLEASE have your group arrive AFTER 4:30 p.m., so that the Green Pines students, staff, and parents can depart after their school day is over in a safe manner. While on the Green Pines Elementary School Parking Lot, we need sponsors to supervise their student groups to avoid leaving a large mess when the parade departs.
As in years past, it is our wish that all athletic teams, clubs, and community organizations participate in the LHS Homecoming Parade. Please enter a float or walking group from your team, club, class, elementary or middle school, or organization in the parade by submitting this form NO LATER THAN 4 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022. The only requirement for participation is providing your own candy to be HANDED to the crowd along the parade route as well as proper adult supervision of students in your group. No candy may be thrown at any time. All candy must be distributed by individuals from your group walking beside your float (if applicable) to parade spectators. The practice is necessitated by safety concerns and to adhere to parade expectations.
If you are a staff member without a team, club or organization, or just want to help out with this event, we can certainly use your help. Supervision at the parade staging area in the parking lots and drivers with convertible vehicles are needed. If you can help in any way please mark the appropriate boxes below as we need volunteers. Join the fun and spend a few hours with the Lafayette Family!
