Open Call for participants for the Summer School “Cultural Landscapes” in Lithuania

Vilnius Academy of Arts (www.vda.lt) is delighted to announce an Open Call for participants for the Summer School that will take place on the 5-12th of August 2017 at Nida Art Colony (www.nidacolony.lt) in Neringa, Lithuania. It is expected that this project will become an annual event. The main focus of the school in 2017 is cultural landscapes.

A clear and professional understanding of the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) and the UNESCO World Heritage Status assures appropriate preservation of the World Heritage Sites and its transference to future generations. Therefore, the main objective of the Summer School is the capacity building activities related to the UNESCO World Heritage issues. With this aim, international experts will provide specialised lectures, seminars and workshops on three topics:
1. Cultural landscapes
2. Intangible cultural heritage (Mr. Henricus (Rieks) Smeets, the Netherlands, tbc.)
3. Interpretation-communication (Mr. James Carter, UK, tbc.)

Target group: students, young and experienced professionals in cultural heritage from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia (up to 25 persons).

Organisers provide accommodation, breakfast and lunch for selected participants.
Participants are responsible for their round trip travel costs to and from Nida.
Course fee: 80 Eur

Selection results will be announced before the 31st of May.
