Mutual Aid Fund Request

This is the form to request funds from the NH Youth Organizing Community of Practice Mutual Aid Fund. Once you submit a request, it will be reviewed and someone will be in touch with next steps within a few weeks time.

 What is the fund?

The Youth Organizing Community of Practice (YOCOP) believes that every person has the right to live a safe and healthy life. Some young people participating in YOCOP member organizations are struggling to meet their basic needs and experience acute barriers and pressures that can make it difficult for them to join or stay actively engaged in their communities and in movement work. This fund offers a one time assistance payment to help with a wellness/personal/crisis support need to support young people and enable their participation in the actions, activities and work of youth organizations.

The purpose of the mutual aid fund is to provide a security net for member leaders living, working or studying in New Hampshire. These funds are not for consistent use on a weekly or monthly basis and are not intended to cover costs or expenses that a participating organization would typically cover for their members or employees. These funds are available for emergency situations that impact a young person’s wellbeing and ability to be healthy, safe, and do their work.

Criteria for eligibility

  • Must be a young person who is participating in one of the YOCOP member groups at the time the funding is awarded
  • Funds must be used for basic needs support, for example rent, transportation costs, food, etcetera. It is not required that the young person prove a need or a relationship to their work with a member group, however the assumption is that the financial support will allow them to continue fully participating in and contributing to youth organizing in New Hampshire.
  •  A young person may apply for funds more than once in a calendar year, however a single young person cannot be awarded more than $599 per tax year. This is because of tax reporting requirements.
