"Diving into History: Maritime Archaeology and Diving Tourism in the Baltic Sea". Kuressaare, Estonia Aug 22nd - 23rd, 2019
Baltacar project is almost finished. To celebrate, we are organizing a SEMINAR dedicated to maritime history and archaeology. Professional researchers, divers, maritime archaeologists, hobby divers and history enthusiasts all are welcome. We will have about 10 presentations from researchers from Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Germany.

VENUE: The seminar will take place in Kuressaare, in the Small Craft Competence Centre (https://www.scc.ee/) of the Maritime Academy. Address Tallinna 19, Kuressaare. https://goo.gl/maps/4nQkhCFHQWTAoAFy5

ACCOMMODATION: It can be difficult to find accommodation in Kuressaare during the summer. If you need it, we suggest you find it and book it very soon!

SIGHTSEEING DAY: On the second day (Aug 23rd) we will go sightseeing around Saaremaa island, visiting the Kuressaare Castle, Salme shipfind, and/or other relevant places of historical interest.

Seminar on Aug 22nd
"DIving into History" seminar will take place at the Maritime Academy. During lunchbreak there will be a guided tour of the academy's Small Craft Competence centre, which is a cutting edge R&D unit for building small seacraft.
Sightseeing day on Aug 23th
On the sightseeing day we will visit places of historical importance like the Kuressaare castle, Salme shipfind and others.
