ASUW Student Food Cooperative (SFC) Volunteer Interest Form 2020-2021
Thank you for your interest in the Student Food Co-Op (SFC)! We offer opportunities to volunteer with us all year long. Students from every academic year (freshmen to grad students) and various backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply!
Volunteer with the Co-op to be on the front lines of working for just, equitable and sustainable agro-food systems at and around the University of Washington. Help run food drives, organize educational events based on what YOU want to learn about the agro-food system at large, lead a cooking demonstration from your own kitchen or generally connect over food and agriculture.
This is a low-stakes volunteer position that can entail a variable time commitment. The biggest commitment will be participating in weekly evening meetings and helping to generate ideas for programming and projects that focus on improving the sustainability and equity of the agro-food system connected to UW and the surrounding community. Volunteers can expect to gain experience in community building and collective action towards food justice.
*Keep in mind that all volunteers MUST attend a mandatory ASUW training on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 at 4:00 PM PDT.
