Hourly Rate - $150.00 Per Man Hour

Customers MUST have a credit card on file prior to the start of any work.

Invoices for installation work that remain unpaid 14 days after their due date will be charged to the customers Credit Card.

If you have any concerns regarding your invoice or the work performed by our staff, please notify us prior to the invoice becoming past due. Please Review the attached policy sheets before signing.

1) QUOTED EQUIPMENT INSTALLATIONS

Any work performed by Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics to a quote that a client has accepted will be invoiced at the quoted price plus State sales tax (if applicable). After a quoted job has commenced, any changes or additions will require the client’s approval of an additional quote. Unless otherwise stated a quoted price includes the equipment, shipping costs, installation materials and installation labor. PC software & hardware configuring is not included in our quotes and will be charged by the hour. Equipment calibration and/or sea-trial is only included when specifically stated.

2) LABOR CHARGES

For non-quoted jobs, service time is charged from the time the Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics technician leaves the shop to travel to the vessel until his return to the shop. In cases where the technician can work on multiple boats in one area, the travel time will be pro-rated between clients. On service jobs any required parts will be billed on final invoice at completion of the job.

3) BOATYARD LABOR SURCHARGES

Some boatyards charge outside contractors for working on vessels on their premises. These charges will be added to your invoice.

4) TRAVEL TIME

If the travel time from the Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics service shop to the vessel and back exceeds 30 minutes, it will be invoiced at the current hourly labor rate. Any flight, ferry, or required rental vehicle(s) or other travel expenses will be invoiced to the client.

5) WARRANTY REPAIR CHARGES

All costs related to equipment warranty repairs that are not paid for by the manufacturer will be the responsibility of the client. Each equipment manufacturer has a specific list of costs covered under the terms of their warranty. Costs not covered by the manufacturer may include travel time, shipping expenses, calibration and/or sea-trial time. Some manufacturers cover only the cost of replacement parts and no (or limited) service time. You may wish to check their policy with us before the repair commences.

6) MID-ATLANTIC MARINE ELECTRONICS INSTALLATION WARRANTY

Equipment that has been supplied and installed on a vessel by Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics carries a 12-month installation warranty, in addition to the manufacturer’s equipment warranty. Any defect that occurs with the physical installation will be corrected, free of charge, by technicians of Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics. Clients whose vessels that are more than two hours travel time from Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics store will be charged the technician’s travel time at ½ the standard service rate. All travel expenses such as flight, ferry charges or other travel expenses will be the responsibility of the client. Repair charges for installation warranty work performed by companies other than Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics will not be accepted except under exceptional situations and with the prior approval of Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics.

7) VESSEL CONDITION AND INSTALLATION WORK

Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics will take all reasonable precautions to protect the work area and surfaces during the installation of your gear. Please note that Mid-Atlantic Marine electronics and its agents are not responsible for damage to surfaces or finishes that may be damaged from use of tapes or other materials required to complete the installation. Vessel condition – a vessel full of gear that needs to be moved or areas that need cleaning prior to the installation will result in a time charge at normal hourly rates.

8) ESTIMATED JOBS

Occasionally, at a client’s request, we will provide a written or verbal estimate prior to commencing an installation or repair. At the completion of the job the client will be invoiced for the materials used and the time taken to complete the job (time & materials). The Estimate is provided only as a guide. Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics makes no assurance that the invoiced amount will match or be close to the estimated amount.

9) MANUFACTURER’S NEW EQUIPMENT WARRANTY

All new equipment sold by Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics carries the manufacturer’s warranty. Clients are responsible for ensuring that the warranty card has been completed and sent to the manufacturer to activate the warranty. Warranty terms and conditions vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Check the literature provided with the product or contact your Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics representative for details.

10) MID-ATLANTIC MARINE ELECTRONICS TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR

Troubleshooting and diagnosis of electronics issues can be a time-consuming process. While we make great efforts to diagnose problems as quickly as possible, using proven processes, troubleshooting can be a lengthy process, particularly if the fault occurs intermittently, as opposed to consistently. Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics will attempt to diagnose an intermittent or non-observable problem for a maximum of 4-man hours, before contacting the customer to formulate a plan and approval to continue to diagnose and/ or repair the problem.

11) INCOMPLETE REPAIRS

Occasionally, it is not possible to complete a repair. This may be due to time constraints, unavailable parts or an item may be uneconomical to repair. In these cases, and at the sole discretion of Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics, we may discount the charges for our technician’s troubleshooting time.

12) TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION CHARGES

For jobs that require our technicians to spend time away from home we will invoice the client for all accommodation, living expenses and travel costs.

13) RESTOCKING FEES / RETURNS

A restocking fee of 20% of the original invoice price plus return shipping charges will be invoiced to the client for any equipment order that is canceled or changed after the equipment has been shipped from the manufacturer. Only equipment that is ‘as new’ and in its original packaging can be accepted for return. Software packages and Software Keys that have been opened or issued cannot be returned. Special order parts cannot be returned. Materials lists for systems or components provided by the customer may not be eligible for return.

14) PAYMENT TERMS

No on-board work will commence until Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics has on file a signed Work Request Form giving the name, address, telephone number and a credit card number (on file) guarantee of the party responsible for paying the invoice. By signing the Work Request Form (page 1 - under Payment Information) the client has agreed that an invoice that becomes more than 14 days past due will be charged to the client’s credit card unless Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics has been notified and agreed to concerns regarding the work done or items invoiced. The client is responsible for any bank charges incurred in transferring funds to a Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics bank account.

15) CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

Payments by credit card that exceed $3,000.00 will incur a 4.0% surcharge to cover the credit card company processing fees.

16) OVERDUE ACCOUNTS

Accounts that become over 30 days past due will have a 4.50% per month finance charge added until the account is paid. Any costs incurred by Mid-Atlantic Marine Electronics incurred collecting past due accounts will be the responsibility of the client including labor time from M-AME required to collect.

17) RETURNED CHECKS & CREDIT CARD CHARGE ISSUES

A $35.00 charge will apply to any checks that are returned by a client’s bank.

A 10% Fee will be added to any credit card billing issues
