Thank you for considering volunteering at ACRES as an Animal Care Volunteer.

Please read the below carefully to understand more about the Animal Care Volunteer Programme at ACRES.

As an Animal Care Volunteer, you will help ensure that the wild animals in our rescue center are provided optimal care. Our rescue center houses birds, mammals and reptiles such as tortoises, turtles, lizards and snakes. They are cared for and rehabilitated and where possible, repatriated or released back into the wild (native species). Our Animal Care Volunteers will be involved in a range of work which may include cleaning of indoor and outdoor enclosures, food preparation, feeding, enrichment programmes, gardening and general maintenance. As rewarding as the work could be, it can also be physically tiring working outdoors in the rain and under the sun.

1. Please note that this form is to register your interest as an Animal Care Volunteer. You are only successful in your application if you receive our email call-out.

2. The minimum age requirement for animal care volunteering is 18 years old.

3. All volunteers are required to be proficient in English (written and spoken).

4. All Animal Care Volunteers are encouraged to have the following vaccinations: Rabies, Tetanus and Influenza.  ACRES is not liable for any injuries/sickness/illness arising from you volunteering.

5. Our volunteer call-outs (via email) are sent every 20th of the month for volunteers to reserve available slots for the following month. For example, call-outs sent on 20th June is to reserve volunteer slots for the month of July. Volunteer slots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Do note that you will only be included in the call-out for the subsequent month if you managed to sign-up before the 15th. Do check the email which you filled out this form with. 

6. There are three (3) shifts available:
• Shift 1 - 9.30 am - 1.00 pm
• Shift 2 - 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm
• Full Shift - 9.30 am - 5.00 pm (Lunch 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm)

7. Only vegetarian/vegan food is allowed to be consumed when you are on duty or using ACRES vehicle (whether in or out of ACRES's premises). This means no meat or seafood.

8. All volunteers are required to adhere to ACRES rules, regulations and code of ethics at all times.

RELEASE, WAIVER AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
1. In consideration for being permitted to participate as a volunteer at ACRES, I hereby irrevocably release, discharge and hold harmless ACRES, its agents, partners and each of its members, directors, officers, employees and volunteers (together, the “ACRES Parties” and each, an “ACRES Party") from any and all liability, claims and demands of any nature, arising out of, or in connection with, any actions or omissions during the course of my participation in any volunteer activities with ACRES and undertake to fully indemnify any of the ACRES Parties against any and all actions, proceedings, claims, demands, loss, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses whatsoever which may be brought or made against any of them, or which any of them may incur, suffer or be liable for in connection with or as a result of, whether directly or indirectly, my participation in any volunteer activities with ACRES. I hereby waive all rights and remedies available to me at law or otherwise and agree and irrevocably undertake not to assert or make any claim or demand or initiate any legal proceedings against any of the ACRES Parties.
 
2. I agree that insofar as is permissible by applicable law, none of the ACRES Parties shall be responsible for or shall assume any liability for any damage to, or loss of the property or belongings, suffered by me, whether such damage or loss is caused by the negligence of any of the ACRES Parties or otherwise.

3. I represent and warrant that I am in good health and in proper physical condition to safely participate in the volunteer activities at ACRES. I certify that I have no physical or mental condition that would endanger my life or that would affect my ability to safely participate in the volunteer activities.

4. I understand that as volunteer, I take part at my own risk. I hereby assert that I knowingly assume all of the inherent risks of the activity on behalf of myself and take full responsibility for any and all damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses that I may incur as a result of my volunteer activities.

5. I hereby release and forever discharge each ACRES Party from any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first-aid treatment or other medical services rendered in connection with an emergency during my tenure as a volunteer with ACRES.

6. I acknowledge that I may be required to obtain certain vaccinations, including, without limitation, Rabies, Tetanus, Influenza and Japanese Encephalitis vaccinations, and to provide satisfactory evidence of such vaccinations to ACRES before I may be permitted to undertake certain volunteering activities.

7. I agree that the determination on my suitability to participate as a volunteer with ACRES will be made at the sole discretion of ACRES. ACRES may prohibit or terminate my participation with immediate effect at any time without having to provide any reason whatsoever, if it deems, at its sole discretion, that I am unsuitable to volunteer with ACRES.

8. By signing this agreement, I consent to allow ACRES to collect, use, disclose and/or process my personal data and to contact me via mail, e-mail, phone calls and text messages in order to process, administer, facilitate, maintain and/or manage my relationship with ACRES (the “Purpose”), including but not limited to communications on ACRES’s activities, programmes and services and fundraising activities; carrying out research, analysis and development activities for ACRES’s purposes; and making disclosures as required by law or a competent authority. ACRES may disclose my personal data to its third-party service providers and/or agents, which may be sited outside of Singapore, for the above Purpose. I further acknowledge that photographs and/or videos may be captured during my volunteer activities and I hereby grant and convey to ACRES all right, title, and interests in any and all photographs, images, video, or audio recordings of me or my likeness or voice made by ACRES in connection with my volunteer activities.

9. This document shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Singapore.
