Poetry Out Loud Massachusetts 2020

Welcome to Poetry Out Loud Massachusetts! Poetry Out Loud is celebrating 15 YEARS NATIONWIDE!

To register your school for this year's contest, please fill out this form completely. Incomplete forms will delay the registration process. All information collected on this form is strictly confidential, and only for the use of the Huntington Theatre Company, Mass Cultural Council, the Poetry Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts (the program facilitators.)

We strongly encourage all schools to set their school-wide Poetry Out Loud Contest NOW and get it on the calendar! This will help you plan and organize your contest, and will ensure you have completed all stages of competition in time for the State-Level Events.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Registration Deadline: Friday December 20, 2019

School-Level Contest Deadline: Friday February 7, 2020

Deadline to Register your School Winner as a Semi-Finalist: Friday February 14, 2020
*No exceptions. Please plan accordingly and plan AHEAD.
*Do not wait until the last minute to have your school competitions!
*Your contest date AND alternate weather date should happen BEFORE February 7, 2020.
*This will give you a full week to coordinate with your school winner, and submit the required
information in time.

Massachusetts Regional Semi-Finals: February 29 - March 2, 2020.
*Schools will receive semi-final assignments from the Huntington once all schools have
registered their semi-finalists in February.
*Specifics will be shared with school POL Coordinators as we get closer to the semi-finals.

Massachusetts State Finals: Sunday March 8, 2020
*Finalists will be named at the state semi-finals.
*Students MUST compete at the semi-finals in order to be eligible for the state finals.

2020 POL National Finals in Washington DC: April 27 - 29, 2020
