Do you know an outstanding social studies educator? The Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies recognizes three distinguished teachers (elementary, middle, and high school) at the annual WCSS Conference each March.
This year our distinguished teachers will be recognized and receive FREE registration for our 2025 WCSS Conference!
Please consider nominating an outstanding colleague by completing this online form.
Nominations are due February 1, 2026.
The Nominee must:
• be a full-time teacher teaching K-12 social studies
• be recognized by colleagues as an excellent social studies teacher
• utilize social studies strategies that foster inquiry and the development of social studies
• have an ongoing interest in improving his/her knowledge and skills in social studies instruction
The Nominee will submit the following by February 1, 2026 to kaelaswanson@wcsswi.org:
- Resume
- Personal belief statement on teaching social studies (150 words or less)
- Picture of self
There will be one winner for each level determined and each winner will be notified in early February.
Award winners will be given free admission to each day of the conference, recognized during the conference award ceremony, and given a plaque for this achievement.
