Oxnard LGBTQ+ Community with the support of the
Social Justice Fund presents this series of bilingual (Spanish/English) support group titled "FAMILIA DE COLORES" aimed for parents, caregivers, and loved-ones of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and more (LGBTQ+) children, youth and young adults.
In this series, parents/loved-ones will learn basic knowledge of LGBTQ+ topics like terminology, history, important community events etc. While simultaneously having a safe space to ask questions, and connect with other parents who may share similar stories. The group will also examine the specific needs of diverse LGBTQ+ individuals, such as those who are part of Latine/Hispanic communities. Our mission is to create safe and inclusive spaces where parents and loved ones will feel supported to talk about worries, questions or emotions they may be feeling around LGBTQ+ topics and to feel like they are not alone.
We will meet every 3rd Thursday of the month starting February 16th through July 20th, 2023. Our meeting place will be in the "Thousand Oaks Room" at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (800 Hobson Way, Oxnard Ca.) If you are interested in attending our support group please fill out this short form and we will be following up via email or phone call to confirm your attendance.
If you have any questions please send us an email to info@oxnardlgbtq.org or call/text us at 805-203-6368
