There are two AgAssist Commitment opportunities available:
1. Conservation Equipment Commitment:
- The Conservation Equipment Commitment Opportunity is for farmers interested in purchasing a no-till drill or broadcaster box and committing up to 200 enrolled acres to cover crop and no-till/minimal till management over three years. The opportunity provides a $195 per acre upfront payment to help farmers offset the cost of a no-till drill or broadcast box. The payment is capped at 200 acres = $39,000 OR 50% reimbursement of approved equipment costs, whichever is less.
2. Precision Nutrient Management Commitment:
- This commitment opportunity is for farmers interested in purchasing precision ag equipment to reduce nutrient and chemical applications to fields. An upfront payment of $105 per acre goes towards the reimbursement of precision ag equipment for committing to use the equipment for three years on the enrolled acres. The payment is capped at 200 acres = $21,000 OR 50% reimbursement of approved equipment costs, whichever is less.
FUNDING EXAMPLE 1, No-till Drill: A producer can enroll 200 acres for a payment limit of $195/acre = $39,000. If the total cost of a no-till drill is $80,000 (max 50% is $40,000), then they will hit the payment limit. The highest possible payment is $39,000.
FUNDING EXAMPLE 2, Broadcast Box: A producer enrolls 30 acres at $195/acre = $5,850 and they purchase a broadcast box to be installed on vertical tillage equipment at $10,000 (max 50% is $5,000), the program can reimburse up to 50% at $5,000.
FUNDING EXAMPLE 3, In-furrow nutrient management: A producer enrolls 80 acres at $105/acres = $8,400 and they purchase in-furrow application technologies at $10,000 (max 50% is $5,000), the program can reimburse up to 50% at $5,000.
