Monday 18th March 2019

Registration from 10am, with the first session starting at 10.30am.

Session 1: Setting the Scene: C20 Churches and Cathedrals in context
Including a contribution from Duncan Wilson, Chief Executive of Historic England

Session 2: Conserving the Modern: opportunities and challenges
Including contributions from the Getty Foundation and the architects of two of England’s finest C20th cathedrals: Coventry and Liverpool Metropolitan

The first day will end at 5.30pm before our unique evening reception and gala dinner, right in the nave of the Cathedral

Attendees are asked to arrange their own accommodation in central Coventry; we hope to be able to advertise a conference rate for a local hotel in the near future.

Tuesday 19th March 2019

Session 3: Our post-war Legacy: understanding and engagement
Chaired by Dame Fiona Reynolds, Chair of the Cathedrals Fabric Commission and former Director-General of the National Trust

Lunch, including an optional practical session on Dalle de Verre repair techniques with Glasmerai Peters

Session 4: The Phoenix Renewed: Mending Modernism
Including contributions from ICOMOS committee members and international experts on C20th materials

The conference will end at 5pm

Cost: £149 inc VAT. The registration fee will include all catering, but not overnight accommodation.
