Therapy Horse Criteria Questionnaire
Do you have a horse that you think might be right for Healing Reins?

We’re always on the lookout for the ideal therapy horse here at Healing Reins. We require horses who are already trained and have had a career such as dressage, 4-H, roping, ranching or extensive trail riding. Miles and experience add up to the quiet, assured horses our participants need. We combine our criteria with PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International recommendations to assemble the best herd for our therapeutic programs. Please fill out the following questions about your horse.

Step 1: Submit Horse Questionnaire Form to Healing Reins

Step 2: If your horse fits our criteria, we will contact you for follow up questions and to set up a meeting with you and your horse. We prefer you bring your horse to Healing Reins for a trial ride so that we can see how he/she reacts to our indoor arena.

Step 3: If the horse is sound, quiet and we think would like this job; then we will ask you to leave him/her with us for a 30 day trial period during which the horse will be evaluated by our veterinarian. If the horse does not pass the exam, we will ask you to pick him/her up immediately.

Healing Reins prefers to long-term lease its program horses. At this time we are not accepting donations.
